“This truly has been one of the best PD experiences I have ever had! It’s been a phenomenal refresh to my passion for teaching.”

Code Savvy Educator Cohort Member

The Code Savvy Educator Cohort is a school year-long commitment (August – May). We meet monthly, mostly online, with some optional in-person events.

There is an opportunity for 3 graduate credits by participating in the cohort.

What content is covered?

During our cohort sessions we explore several aspects of computer science education, provide resources for you to use with students, and include several opportunities to collaborate, reflect, and network with other educators across the state. Each of our sessions are differentiated by experience level, subject area, and grade level. The topics we cover during the cohort year include, but not limited to:

  • What is Computer Science and Computational Thinking?
  • Teaching Computer Science Unplugged
  • CS Integration
  • Computer Science Instructional Strategies
  • Design Thinking + App Development
  • Physical Computing and Robotics
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data and AI

Whether you are a new or experienced Minnesota educator from any grade level (PK-12), we invite you to join our cohort. You do not need prior experience with Computer Science to join. We pride ourselves in a cohort that is differentiated to serve any educator interested in our mission!

The cost to join the cohort is $500. We do offer scholarships to join the cohort as we do not want cost to be a barrier to being a part of this community.
