Title: Bilingual (Spanish + English) In-School Facilitator
Reports to: Code Savvy Director of Educator Training
Status: Contract, Part-Time (Full-Time may become available in the future)

Code Savvy is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization working to interrupt and counteract existing gender, racial, and economic gaps in computing by equipping youth and educators with the knowledge, skills, and support to create with technology. We do this work through partnerships with schools and communities to expand equitable and engaging computer science education for all students. Our school partnership engagements include educator training, ongoing educator computer science (CS) coaching, co-planning and co-teaching, standards alignment, curriculum development (both stand-alone CS and integrated with other subjects), and recommendations on CS curricular materials and supplies.
Code Savvy is looking for a PT facilitator to support our school partnerships with Spanish-speaking partners! Join us to expand equitable and engaging computer science education through educator training and support.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate for the Bilingual In-School Facilitator role is fluent in Spanish and has some experience with computer science (CS) and/or STEM concepts or tools. This person will help to support our school partners by working on-site at the schools to provide CS classroom support.
Successful candidates will have availability during the school day and have a passion for incorporating equitable teaching practices that support underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and female-identifying youth. (Training is provided)
This position is a part-time contract position joining our Educator Training and School Partnership team to support our school partnership programs. The preferred start date is yesterday (ha! ASAP).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Work as a member of our educator training and school partnership team to facilitate in-person CS learning with our elementary or secondary educators

Assist teachers in their classrooms by providing oversight and mentorship to the students as they work through the CS curriculum

Serve as an ambassador for Code Savvy and Code Savvy’s mission and values to the school communities in which you work, fostering a commitment to equity and access to CS ed and creating educational environments in which students can thrive and reach their highest potential.

Support multiple school partnership projects through participation in team and school meetings, project planning, data collection, and reporting
Experience & Qualifications:
As our ideal candidate, you have experience teaching and supporting CS/STEM education as a mentor or training facilitator; strong writing and communications skills; are quick to pick up new technology, effectively prioritize and multi-task, and work well both independently and on a team.
Required Skills & Experience:

Fluency in the Spanish language

Some familiarity with computer science concepts and/or tools like Scratch, Python, Jupiter Notebooks, etc. (willingness to learn is more important than experience)

Ability to pass a background check in order to work in person within our school partner facilities

Good communication skills and openness for feedback
