Code Savvy Volunteer Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join Code Savvy as a Volunteer and Projects Manager.
As the Volunteer Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all volunteer needs, managing volunteer engagement programs, and supporting various committees within the organization. Additionally, you will be actively involved in promoting our programs to corporations and community organizations, as well as managing our documentation for committee projects in Jira.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, proficient skills with project management tools like Jira, Google Workspace, and Slack (or similar platforms), be detail-oriented, and have a passion for community engagement and (ideally) inclusive computer science education.
NOTE: This position is mostly remote (within MN) but there are some in-person events throughout the year where attendance would be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Coordination:

Manage all aspects of volunteer recruitment, screening, and placement.

Conduct background checks and maintain accurate volunteer records.

Assess volunteer skills and match them with appropriate roles within the organization.

Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers, ensuring a positive volunteer experience.
Program Promotion and Engagement:

Pitch Code Savvy programs to corporations and community organizations to secure volunteer support.

Collaborate with these entities to recruit volunteers for committees, the Board, and mentor programs.

Act as the primary contact for Code Savvy Explore and Experience engagement, fostering relationships and promoting active involvement.
Committee Support and Project Management:

Attend meetings of Code Savvy committees and provide project management support.

Oversee and claim ownership of the entire Jira documentation process for committee projects.

Prepare comprehensive status reports for the Executive Director to present to the Board, facilitating strategic development and progress tracking.
Administrative Tasks:

Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, hours, and impact.

Continue to develop, implement, and maintain volunteer policies, procedures, and training materials.

Assist in the preparation of volunteer-related budgeting and resource allocation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Previous experience in volunteer management or community engagement.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency in project management tools and platforms, such as Jira, Slack, and Google Workspace.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.

Passion for promoting inclusive Computer Science education and community involvement.
Pay Rate: Contract - $65,000 annual salary (contract position - no benefits at this time)
