AI Builders Day
Join Code Savvy for an exciting, hands-on hackathon where students ages 8–18 explore coding, design thinking, micro:bit programming, and AI while building solutions for real-world challenges.
This free, one-day event takes place at The Wood at Zanewood Recreation Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, a newly renovated community space designed to help young people explore, connect, and grow.
No prior computer science experience required. Just curiosity.

Hackathon Includes
- Hands-On Coding: Program with micro:bits and AI tools to explore creative solutions.
- Design for Impact: Work in teams to develop a solution inspired by real community challenges.
- Mentorship and Support: Learn from tech professionals and mentors who will guide students along the way.
- Competition and Prizes: Showcase projects in front of judges, with prizes awarded to top teams.
- Free Lunch: Lunch and snacks are provided.
- Code Savvy Swag: Students will receive free Code Savvy swag during the event.
- Travel Support: Travel stipends will be provided as needed.

This year’s event will take place at The Wood at Zanewood Recreation Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Recently renovated, Zanewood Recreation Center was designed to provide young people and families with a welcoming space to explore, connect, learn, and grow together.
We’re excited to bring Innovate for Good: AI Builders Day into a community-centered environment built to inspire creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.

What Students Will Experience
Students will spend the day collaborating in teams, exploring coding concepts, experimenting with AI tools, and building creative solutions to real-world challenges.
Participants will learn through hands-on activities guided by educators, mentors, and technology professionals in a welcoming environment designed for curiosity and creativity.
Whether students are completely new to coding or already love technology, Innovate for Good: AI Builders Day is built to encourage exploration, teamwork, and confidence-building.
