Join Code Savvy for four free, beginner-friendly virtual sessions designed to help educators build practical computer science skills, explore classroom-ready tools, and leave with resources they can use with learners.
Build Skills You Can Bring Directly to Learners
Code Savvy’s Professional Development Series supports educators and other adult learners who want to expand their computer science toolkit, explore emerging technologies, and gain practical resources for use with students.
Each 90-minute session is hosted live on Zoom and focuses on a specific topic. No prior computer science experience is required.
Participants will learn alongside other educators, try hands-on activities, and receive access to resources or curriculum that can support continued learning after the session.
Code Savvy’s Professional Development Series is recognized as a CSTA-accredited professional development program.

Explore the 2026–2027 Professional Development Series
Physical Computing with the micro:bit
Explore the world of physical computing using the micro:bit. In this beginner-friendly session, participants will learn how students can create interactive projects using sensors, inputs, and outputs.
No physical micro:bit is needed. We will use the free web-based simulator throughout the session. Participants will also learn how to access Code Savvy’s free 16-day Byte-Sized Challenge curriculum and coaching support.
Storytelling Through Scratch
Bring creativity and computer science together through storytelling. In this beginner-friendly session, participants will explore how students can use Scratch to create interactive stories, animations, and digital narratives while building foundational coding skills.
Participants will also have the opportunity to access Code Savvy’s free five-day storytelling-focused Scratch curriculum to continue the learning with students.
Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI
Artificial intelligence is changing how we teach, learn, and create. This interactive session will explore practical ways educators can use AI to support planning, instruction, and productivity.
Participants will also explore age-appropriate strategies for helping students understand and engage with AI. Educators will leave with resources, classroom ideas, and guidance for exploring AI responsibly with learners.
Create Your First Website
Ever wondered how websites are created? In this hands-on introduction to web development, participants will build their own website while learning the fundamentals of HTML and CSS.
Whether participants are looking to expand their computer science toolkit or are simply curious about coding, this session offers a practical and engaging introduction to creating content for the web.
